Power Input | 5V via GPIO or USB-C Port (4A) PoE via POE+ HAT (Incompatible with old version) | 5V via GPIO or USB-C Port (3A) POE via POE+ HAT |
The Raspberry Pi 5 offers significant performance improvements over the Raspberry Pi 4, including a faster CPU and improved I/O capabilities 1. It also has a VideoCore VII GPU clocked at a higher frequency than the VideoCore VI GPU in the Raspberry Pi 4 1. The Raspberry Pi 5 also has two Mini HDMI ports that can output up to 4kp60 video, while the Raspberry Pi 4 has two Mini HDMI ports that can output up to 4kp30 video 1. The Raspberry Pi 5 also has LPDDR4X-4267 SDRAM with up to 8 GB of RAM, while the Raspberry Pi has LPDDR4-3200 SDRAM with up to 8 GB of RAM 1.
However, the Raspberry Pi consumes more power and generates more heat than the Raspberry Pi due to its higher performance 1. Additionally, it does not have a stereo audio jack like the Raspberry Pi 1. The position of the USB and Ethernet ports has also been flipped around on the Raspberry Pi compared to the Raspberry Pi 1.
